What a care plan actually buys

Most website maintenance retainers are a block of hours you hope not to need. That is a comfortable arrangement for the person selling it and a vague one for the person paying, because the deliverable is defined by what went wrong.

Nothing to patch

These sites run at the edge rather than on a server. There is no operating system to keep updated, no web server to configure, no process to restart at three in the morning because memory ran out.

That removes a whole category of maintenance rather than absorbing it into a monthly fee. It also removes the most common reason a small business site goes down, which is not an attack but an unattended machine.

Measured, not assumed

Every deployment is scored, and the result is written to your own health page. When something regresses you can see which check failed and what it costs. When nothing regresses, you can see that too, which is the part most retainers cannot show you.

The part that is still human

What remains is judgment. Copy that has gone out of date. A page that should exist and does not. An offer that changed six months ago. A search result that reads badly to someone deciding whether to call you.

That is the work worth paying attention to, and it is far easier to see clearly when the mechanical half is already handled.
